Seasonal newspaper marks 50 years

15 December 2017

Our latest seasonal newspaper has just gone to press and will be available in a few days time for you to pick up and enjoy at The Three Acres. This one is something of a special edition, as it marks our half century, with an interesting insight into the last 50 years. A history we're very proud of, and a poignant time as we wish our very own Brian Orme a happy retirement and see a 'changing of the guard'.

Also read the story of Highcroft Honey, made by bees a stone's throw away from The Three Acres kitchen. Plus details of our New Year's Day hunt and much more.

Take a sneak peek here in our pdf version, or call in and pick up your printed version whenever you wish.

New Year's Day Hunt

The_Hunt.jpg

11 December 2017

We’re looking forward to hosting the meet once again for the Rockwood Harriers Hunt* here at The Three Acres on Monday 1st January.

Join us to see the spectacle of the horses and hounds arriving late morning with the riders in all their traditional splendour. We’ll be serving bacon sandwiches and mulled wine from 10am to warm the cockles this New Year’s Day. Support the Rockwood Harriers as they set off for their drag hunt around noon.

New Year’s Day lunch will be served as normal from 1-3pm in the restaurant (booking essential for lunch on 01484 602606).

*The Hunt will be hunting the ‘clean boot’, which is a legal sport and fundamentally different to trail hunting.

A Winter Wedding for the World to Envy

Weddings at The Three Acres are a real joy. It’s a special honour to join a couple on their journey into married life, from the first meeting, full of ideas and excitement, right through to waving the last guests off at the end of the evening. The whole team work tirelessly to execute the perfect day so we’re delighted to be able to showcase a recent wedding which has been featured on the highly regarded website rockmywedding.com.

Rock My Wedding is the biggest wedding blog and planning resource in the UK, coined as the ‘the most influential brand in the wedding industry’. With 230k readers and over 1.3 million followers across social media, they help couples all over the world to plan their wedding day.

Rachael and John chose The Three Acres as the ‘perfect countryside venue for a winter wedding, with the most breath-taking views, famed for its roaring log fires and amazing food’. It was a real pleasure to host this wonderful couple who did a fine job in styling their dream wedding in our marquee. The pictures really do look wonderful, thank you for taking the time to share with us.

Author Fern Godfrey commented: “If you’re getting married this Winter, then this gorgeous marquee wedding should get your heart racing. It’s hard to imagine how a marquee will work in the winter months but with lots of flowers, lighting and cosy corners, a marquee can be transformed into SUCH a warm and inviting space.

Their venue, The 3 Acres Inn is one I’ve only just discovered and it truly looks idyllic – set in a village location in West Yorkshire and with a reputation for good food? Sounds pretty perfect to me. Images come from Sarah Jane Ethan (pic credit), who has captured every ounce of joy so that we can all enjoy Rachael & John’s big day too."
