We are open! A very warm welcome back to The 3 Acres

We are open! Our team is delighted to welcome guests back to The 3 Acres, marking the completion of a 17-month programme of refurbishment following our devastating fire on Boxing Day 2023.

Our much-loved restaurant with rooms has undergone a complete renovation including a redesigned restaurant and bar, eight brand new luxury bedrooms, and a £450,000 state-of-the-art kitchen that outshines many top London restaurants in terms of kit and capability.

The 3 Acres owner, Tom Truelove, explained: “We are over the moon to have opened our doors once again, having worked pretty much none-stop alongside our fantastic contractors and tradespeople since December 2023 to bring the Acres back to life.

“It’s been a difficult and challenging process at times with the number of decisions we’ve needed to make and the sheer scale of the project but seeing the place full of guests for Sunday Lunch when we reopened on Sunday 18th May was a hugely proud moment and has made all the hard work over the last 17 months worthwhile. We are so pleased and proud to be back.”

Tom’s wife, Lauren Truelove, added: “Ensuring we stayed true to the essence of The 3 Acres as we designed the building for its next chapter was at the forefront of our minds throughout the project.

“In the restaurant and bar, the aesthetic still feels reassuringly familiar, but we’ve introduced beautiful new design elements that elevate the space like banquette seating for more informal dining and pre-dinner drinks, and a stunning pewter bar top that defines the Oyster Bar and is flanked by sumptuous leather stools in a deep oxblood shade.”

Eight of our bedrooms in the main building above the restaurant have also been completely redesigned to create timeless interiors that emphasise our incredible moorland setting through colour and pattern, with beautiful antique furniture sitting elegantly alongside more modern elements to give each room its own sense of character.

Our state-of-the-art kitchen was designed in collaboration with Huddersfield-based Green’s Commercial Kitchens and now features hi-tech equipment including a Rotisol rotisserie, Josper woodfired grill, and an MKN Flexichef Brat Pan.

Tom adds: “Food is and always will be at the beating heart of The 3 Acres, and we pride ourselves on using locally sourced ingredients wherever and whenever possible to create vibrant, seasonal menus featuring hearty-yet-refined a la carte menus that sit alongside much-loved favourites including our famous French Onion Soup and our much-loved 3 Acres Sunday Roast.

“We spent months designing and specifying our new kitchen to create what I believe is now one of the best in the country and will allow our team of chefs to push the boundaries of culinary excellence and create the exceptional food that The 3 Acres is renowned for – and that generations of families and returning guests know and love.”
